About ACEFS

The Akkad Center for Economic and Financial Studies is a non-governmental organization registered in the NGO Department of the General Secretariat of the Iraqi Cabinet with a registration certificate numbered  1D2108026.

Establishment

It is well-known that economic activity has a significant impact on the well-being and advancement of people worldwide. As a result, many governments throughout the world have encouraged economic and financial research institutions to give actual answers to problems coming from finance or other concerns relating to the structure of the state’s accounting and financial system. They have done so. Because of the Corona crisis and the reduction in oil prices, Iraq and most other nations in the region are in dire financial and economic straits, leading to the conception of this institution. As a result, deficits and crises increased, as did the possibility of financial systems failing to meet their financial responsibilities to governments. In addition, the chronic problems of Iraq’s economic and financial system have hurt public finance management and poor control over public spending. Moreover, the development of human resources in the administrative and financial fields is also one of the main obstacles to economic growth in Iraq. But, on the other hand, the economic and financial problems referred to above have cast a shadow over the performance of Iraq’s indicators, which is the leading reservation in the economic development of any country.
